The darkness has been complete. The constellations revolve around the North Star, changing my perspective of the Big Dipper and its followers in the night sky.
The morning comes quickly, with the sun hiding behind the White Mountains, readying its arrival for the rest of us.
The day, not yet developed, has begun to spread its ambient light about, waiting for the grand show to begin.
Here is a little slide show. The peaks from left (Basin Mtn. 4,020m) to the middle Mt Tom (4,161m), to the right (the Wheeler Ridge) above Round Valley.
Finally the morning sun grabs ahold of Mt Tom and the others, with the full effect of illumination, finally chasing the morning shadows away once and for all.
